Lazy Days

When I’m having a lazy day (or often, any kind of day) I will have a nap. As the cushion shows – naps fix everything. Whatever mood I am in, whether that’s happy, sad, stressed or anything in between, I will more than likely take a nap. If you’re ever struggling to get a hold of me, I’m probably napping. If you hadn’t have guessed by now, I nap, like a lot.

I also go through phases of reading. It allows me to forget about what’s going on around me and immerse myself into a new world.

However, most of my lazy days are spent binge-watching YouTube, Netflix and Disney+. I’ve recently started re-watching Friends and Glee from the very beginning (as most of us have). I love seeing the fashion and taking inspiration from both shows. Click here for my Netflix recommendations. I will continue to create content around Netflix. So, I will update that link with the latest post each time.

I’m going to begin by stating that it is okay to have a lazy day (or 5) every now and again. I have so many lazy days that you may even call me a professional.

Everyone has their own difficulties and challenges in life that they sometimes need a break from. No one should feel bad for having a day off to recuperate.

Some days you may choose to do something on your down day. This could be going to the cinema, hanging out with friends, or going to a museum. The list is endless. However, there are some days that you just don’t want to do anything at all.

Lazy days also give you the opportunity for self-care. Pampering yourself can boost your mood and how you feel about yourself and your body – revitalising yourself and encouraging you to get back into your working routine.

Pampering yourself could be something as simple as having a long shower – anything that helps to make you feel relaxed.

Long baths with bath bombs and lots of bubbles is also one of my favourite things to do on a lazy day. I definitely need to stock up on bath bombs asap.

I also enjoy using face masks, painting my nails and devouring several bars of chocolate (or Easter eggs since it was Easter last weekend). Anything that relaxes me and makes me feel better. My current face mask of choice is the L’Oréal Pure Clay Blemish Rescue Mask or The Body Shop Himalayan Charcoal Purifying Glow Mask. The L’Oréal mask is a gorgeous blue colour and makes my skin look and feel amazing after every use. And The Body Shop one has bits of charcoal in it and definitely helps with my stress/hormonal acne. I’ve also purchased my boyfriend a Lush face mask and I like that too. So I think that I may have to purchase one myself.

You should never feel guilty for having lazy days. They allow you to relax, de-stress and re-evaluate everything that is going on in your life.

Having lazy days to look after your mind and body is essential in helping keep you happy, healthy and focused. And don’t let anyone tell you otherwise.

And if you’re reading this while isolating during the coronavirus – I hope that you’re well and you’re having the best lazy days (if you can).
